An introduction to Guru AI capabilities

An overview of Craft.io's built-in AI capabilities: Guru Item AI and Feedback Guru AI.

Product teams spend a lot of time reading. Reading through epics to understand what a feature is supposed to solve. Reading through feedback to find out what customers are actually asking for. Reading notes before a stakeholder meeting to remember where things stand.

Craft.io's Guru AI reduces that reading time. It's built directly into your workspace, with no separate tool and no switching context. Ask it a question about a work item or your feedback data, and it returns a clear answer in seconds.


Guru AI capabilities

Guru AI covers two distinct areas of your product work:

  • Guru Item AI - AI built into individual work items (epics, features, stories). Ask questions about a specific item, generate summaries, draft release notes, or explore what problem the item is solving. Available on Pro and Enterprise plans.

  • Feedback Guru AI - AI that works across your entire feedback set. Ask open-ended questions about patterns, themes, and demand signals across all submissions in your feedback portal. Available on Enterprise plans.

Both capabilities are enabled by an Account Admin from Account Manager > Account Settings. Once enabled, they are available across all workspaces in your organization.


Guru Item AI

Guru Item AI is accessed from the item panel. Open any epic, feature, or story and select Ask Guru AI to open the prompt window.

You can use predefined prompts or ask a free-text question. Common uses:

  • Summarize the feedback linked to this epic

  • Explain what problem this item is trying to solve

  • Generate a stakeholder brief or release note for this feature

  • Get a one-paragraph summary of any item, in plain language

Guru Item AI reads the item's title, description, child items, and any linked feedback to form its response. It works with the context of the specific item you have open.


Feedback Guru AI

Feedback Guru AI works across your full feedback set rather than a single item. It processes all submissions in your connected feedback portal and returns insights based on patterns and recurring themes.

Access it from the Feedback Guru AI icon in your workspace. You can ask open-ended questions in natural language or use predefined prompts. Common uses:

  • Identify the most common themes across all feedback

  • Find what enterprise customers are asking for most

  • Surface recurring complaints or requests in a specific category

  • Understand demand signals before a planning session

Feedback Guru AI requires a connected Feedback Portal. The icon will appear in your workspace once a portal is created and connected. If no portal exists yet, speak to your Workspace Owner or Customer Success Manager
