Craft.io licenses are based on permission level, not the number of workspaces a user belongs to. A user invited to three workspaces under the same account owner counts as one paid seat - not three.
This makes it practical to give team members access to multiple workspaces without multiplying your license costs.
β
What counts as a paid seat
Any user with a permission level of Editor or above is counted as a paid seat. Viewers are not billed.
This applies to both the core platform and the Feedback Portal. A user who is already a paid member of the core platform is not double-counted if they also have Editor access to the Feedback Portal under the same account.
β
How billing works across multiple workspaces
All workspaces created under the same account owner are associated with a single account. Users across those workspaces are counted once, regardless of how many workspaces they belong to.
For example: if a user is an Editor in four workspaces that all share the same account owner, they are one paid seat.
β
Important: If a team member creates their own workspace, they become the account owner of that workspace. It is treated as a separate account and billed independently from your main account. To keep workspaces consolidated under one bill, all workspaces should be created by the same account owner.
