In-view pop-ups
Product managers need to control and manage data from multiple sources in one central place. Previously, users had to navigate to the item panel to interact with dependencies or comments, and to leave the current view that the dependencies or comments were part of. With this release, both are now also available directly in your current table, Kanban or Swimlanes views, enhancing your workflow efficiency. To access the new pop-ups, simply click the dependencies or comments icon in the dedicated table column or on the item card in Kanban and Swimlanes views.
New dependencies bar
The redesigned dependencies pop-up provides greater efficiency and visibility for managing item dependencies. By clicking the dependencies icon in the table view or on an item card, you can immediately create and manage dependencies from “Blocked by”, “Blocks”, or “Related” types. Additionally, the new dependencies pop-up now combines both categories - workspace dependencies and inter-workspace dependencies - into a single list for improved clarity, unlike the previous dependencies bar.
Within the pop-up, you can add new dependencies and manage them using the 3-dot menu. Options include changing dependency types, removing dependencies entirely, or viewing the dependent items.
Whenever you create new dependencies, a rebuilt search panel makes it easier to find items by name or ID and to filter results by type or completion status.
As before, the dependencies icon itself shows at-a-glance status by turning red whenever an item is blocked by another that has not yet been completed. With this release, new warning indicators also notify you of late or incomplete dependencies, giving you an additional layer of visibility into potential risks that could impact your progress.
Eventually, we also added the dependencies data to be accessible through Craft.io’s public API.
New comments bar
The comments pop-up delivers an enhanced writing and collaboration experience. Drafting, editing, and deleting comments is now possible directly within the pop-up. You can also tag teams or individual users to keep communication focused and effective. Likewise, threaded replies make it easier to follow discussions, and when you reply, the original author is automatically tagged so they stay in the loop.
