Product Managers often spend considerable time manually updating feedback statuses and notifying customers who frequently lack visibility into the progress of their submitted feedback.

The new work item to feedback status mapping automation introduces a direct connection of your product development workflow to customer communication. Now, when a work item's status changes in Craft.io, directly or from dev tool integration, and as a result, all work items connected to a specific feedback item share the same status - the feedback item status will automatically update and notify the feedback submitter. This significantly reduces manual effort for product managers, ensuring that customers and GTM teams are always up-to-date on the progress of their submitted feedback, fostering greater transparency and trust.

To use this new functionality, navigate to Settings > Workflow & Statuses > Status Mapping. Here, you will find a new section titled “Work Item → Feedback Status Mapping”. Click the “+Add Rule” button to create a new mapping. From the dropdowns, select a work item status and its corresponding feedback item status. When editing a rule, you also have the option to “Apply rules to existing items”, which will instantly update all relevant feedback items according to your new rule.
