Enhancements for Moving and Converting Items

Key Takeaways

Move/Copy item between workspaces: Select item type

Previously, when moving or copying an item from one workspace to another, it was moved (or copied) as its current item type. However, with this update, you now have the ability to move/copy items as a different item type in the new workspace. For example, if an item was an epic but should now behave as a feature under another epic in the designated workspace, you can easily make this adjustment. When selecting to move or copy an item between workspaces, you can now select the destination workspace as usual. Once selected, an additional action will allow you to choose the item type for the item in the new workspace. This enhancement streamlines the process, eliminating the need to first move or copy the item and then convert it, saving time and effort.

Convert item type: Select item parent

Previously, converting any item to a lower hierarchy item type created a “ghost” parent for the converted item, requiring manual work to move the item to its desired parent & delete the “ghost” parent. Understanding that you typically have a specific parent item in mind for conversions, we have streamlined the process. Now, when converting an item to a lower hierarchy type (e.g., epic to story, story to sub-story), a dialog will open to select the appropriate parent item. This enhancement eliminates the need for unnecessary parent items and simplifies the conversion process.

Map Craft.io item ID to Jira

Another small but useful enhancement for the Jira integration is the ability to map the Craft.io item ID to a Jira text field. To apply this enhancement, simply go to the Jira integration Field & Type Mapping screen and map the Craft.io item ID to the desired Jira text field.
