Portfolio fields - item type control

We are pleased to introduce an enhancement to our portfolio management capabilities: Portfolio Fields - Item Type Control. This new feature allows for more precise configuration of portfolio fields by associating them with specific item types within your workspaces.

Background:

Portfolio Fields are essential for aligning all related workspaces to operate consistently. Previously, portfolio fields applied universally to all item types, leading to clutter and the display of irrelevant fields on certain items.

What's New:

With today's release, we offer a solution to this challenge by enabling you to specify which item types should display each portfolio field. For example, one can define that Portfolio Field A will be accessible only to initiatives, while Portfolio Field B will be accessible only to epics and features. This enhancement simplifies the user interface by eliminating unnecessary field clutter on unrelated item types. It also empowers product leaders to define fields more accurately and establish clearer product processes for their teams.

How to Use This Feature:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Portfolio Settings > Portfolio Fields.

  2. Add a new portfolio field or edit an existing one.

  3. Set the field visibility to specific item types as required.
