Focus your search with the global search tabs
The advancements in technology and the exponential growth of data have made searching for information more complex and challenging than ever before. With an abundance of search options available, users often face difficulty in finding relevant information amidst a sea of irrelevant search results.
To address this issue, Craft.io provides the use of global search tabs, which are designed to accommodate users with a simple and efficient way to search for information by separating various search options into distinct categories.
The global search tabs offer a seamless search experience that allows users to quickly focus on specific types of information. For instance, if a user is searching for information within the Workspace's views, they can select the "Views" tab, and the search engine will display search results appearing within these views only. This saves time and effort for users who want to quickly find information on a specific topic without having to sift through irrelevant search results.
Furthermore, the global search tabs are not limited to just one type of information. They cater to a broad range of search options, such as Sprints and Releases, by providing separate tabs for each of these search options. This way, users can easily switch between tabs and access relevant search results for each category.
The global search tabs are an effective way of refining search results and making it easier to locate the information users need, faster, and more efficiently. This feature is especially helpful for businesses and organizations that need to conduct research or analyze data. The global search tabs help streamline the search process, saving valuable time and resources.
Viewing and navigating Search Results
Click Search Workspace from the top area of your screen, type your search query and a search panel would appear with the relevant results, split by categories, as mentioned above.
Once you see your query results in the search panel, there are a few things you can do to further explore them:
A preview of the first three items from each type will appear; click “Show All” to see the full results for that type.
You can expand your entire results so that everything appears as one long list, by clicking "Expand All".
Clicking on any Item will open it in full detailed view.
You have the capability to go back to any previous search string that you've input into the search bar until you clear your search history.
It is imperative to mention the difference between Craft.io's search capabilities, detailed above, and the view search, located on the right sife of your screen, when working on a certain view. The view search would generate specific results relevant solely to the view you are on, whereas the search functionalities detailed in this article would reflect results from the entire workspace.
