At Craft.io, we understand the importance of design in the product development process. That's why we've made it even easier for our users to preview designs without leaving our platform. We have integrated various design tools into Craft.io, allowing you to preview designs directly from within our platform.

Supported design tools:

  • Figma

  • Invision

  • Adobe XD

  • Miro

  • Axure

  • Lucidchart

Here's how:

Add a Design Link custom field

To add a link to any of your design tools, simply add a custom field by clicking on the Settings cog wheel icon on the top right corner of your screen, then proceed to Workspace settings -> Custom Fields, click the Add button, and select the Link type field to be added. Name the Field Design Link and click Create to save it.

Using the Design Link field

Once you've added the Design Link custom field, you can utilize it directly within any working item's description area, under the Additional fields, by simply clicking it to show the available fields it holds, namely the Design Link field. Then, paste the link to the relevant design item. An iframe of the design will be embedded below the link, allowing you to view the design without leaving the platform.

For a better visual experience, the iframe preview can be expanded from the item itself, by simply clicking on it, thereby providing a more seamless and efficient design process.

You can also add the Design link as a column to the Product Backlog view or any other Table view you create, by simply clicking on the + or +Column buttons and selecting the Design Link field from the fields drop-down. You will then be able to expand the design preview directly from within the Table.

You will also be able to filter your backlog according to Design Links as explained in the next section.

Filtering according to the Design Link field in various views

With our design tools integrations, you are able to filter any items that include a design image and showcase it through your Craft.io views, whether it is a Table, Kanban, Swimlanes, Timeline view, etc., as shown below.
You no longer need to navigate to external websites to view designs. This saves you time and allows for a more seamless and efficient design process within Craft.io.

This can be done by simply adding the Design Link as a filter to your view, whether it is Timeline, Swimlanes, or a Table view:

Then, choose whether you would want to incorporate the items with a design link or without, and reflect it within your selected view:

By following these simple steps, you can easily set up your Design Link custom field and utilize it to preview your designs within Craft.io, improving your overall design display on your Product roadmaps, views, and workflows.
