At Craft.io we are committed to continually improving our product and providing the best possible experience to our users. As part of that commitment, we will be sunsetting the "Visual Spec" feature, as we have newer and improved ways of incorporating visuals into your Craft.io's product specs.

Visual Specs Alternatives

Inline Images: You can now easily insert images directly into the specs, by using the rich text formatting toolbar within the description field. This makes it easier to provide visual examples and helps team members quickly understand the context of the spec.

Design link integrations: With design link integrations, you can now insert links from various design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and Invision and view them directly from the specs in Craft.io. This allows for seamless collaboration between designers and product teams.

Understanding the Data Implications

Please note that any existing visual specs in Craft.io will be converted into attachments in the relevant item, ensuring that no visual data will be lost.

However, please be aware that any non-visual data associated with the visual specs such as design annotations will be lost.

If any of your visual specs use design annotations, be sure to relocate them, either as part of the description of the relevant item or as comments in the Figma/Invision designs if used.

This change is scheduled to take effect on April 3rd, 2023.

We understand that change can be difficult, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we believe that these updates will make creating and managing specs easier and more efficient for our users. If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
