Plan Insight Badges

Release Notes | September 6th, 2026

Written by Zvi Cohen Zion

Key Takeaways

  • Plan Insight Badges: Part of Actual vs Planned, Craft.io analyzes every item in a plan and surfaces what needs attention, such as an item at risk or falling behind its own pace, while there is still time to act

  • Insight Selection: Choose which badges appear on a view, so each team sees only the insights that matter to it

Plan Insight Badges

A plan view shows what changed. It does not say which items are in trouble. Working that out means opening each one and reading its dates against its progress, and nobody does that across two hundred items every week. By the time a problem is obvious, the window to do something about it has usually closed.

With this update, Craft.io analyzes the state and health of every item in the plan, and surfaces the result on the item itself as a plan insight badge. There are seven, in two families. Five report health: Completed, Nearly done, Overdue, At risk and Behind pace. Two mark the changes that most often call for a decision: Date slipped and Scope grew.

Badges are calculated on live data, so they appear in the Actual vs planned and Planned vs actual modes of a plan view.

To see them, load a plan into a table, kanban, swimlanes or timeline view.

Insight Selection

Not everyone needs every insight. A team running two-week sprints is watching for different things than a leader reviewing a closed quarter, and an insight one of them relies on is noise to the other.

With this update, you choose which insights appear on a view. The sprint team might show only Behind pace and Date slipped. The quarterly review might show Completed and Scope grew, and nothing else.

To choose them, open the Actual vs Planned dropdown, go to Plan view settings, and select Show plan insights.
